The Bethel Christian Worship Center
The Bethel Christian Worship Center is a church in the western part of
Kenya called Bulimba. It is lead by Pastor Josephat Wandera and his wife
Elizabeth. He is not only the Pastor there, but oversees at total of 10
churches. Six of them is in Kenya and four of them is in Uganda. Bethel CW
Center (an affiliate of Branches of Christ Fellowship) and the other nine
churches in Pastor Wandera's oversight is in constant need of church and
teaching supplies and TDE is helping them with these through The Matthew
5:6 Project. We pray also that The Center will be able to obtain a computer
as Pastor Wandera travels 30kms several times a week just to use one.
Funds for them to buy a computer would be a blessing to the Church and
Pastor Wandera as well.

The Orphans of Kenya and Uganda
The growing rate of orphans in the countries of Kenya and Uganda is
staggering. It is reported that in 1990, only 5.3% or 32,000 of children under
the age of 5 became orphans due to AIDS/HIV, many of them have the virus
themselves. In 2002, it was worse. Statistics show that 13.5% or 106,000
children became orphans due to AIDS/HIV, with many of them having the
virus also. It was projected in 2002 that as early as 2005, the rate will
increase to 14% and stabilize there. Only 5% of people in Kenya and
Uganda have access to antiretroviral drugs due to the high cost, and Kenya
is the worst affected by this pandemic.
The Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) has predicted
outcomes for the region (of Africa) to the year 2025. These range from a
plateau and eventual decline in deaths beginning around 2012 to a
catastrophic continual growth in the death rate with potentially 90 million
cases of infection.
Bethel Christian Worship Center supports 13 orphans within their church.
This is not counting the other orphans that are in the other churches within
Pastor Wandera's oversight. Each of these orphans has a story, all which
are heart-clenching to hear. Any help you can give these orphans would be
a blessing. They are in need of school supplies, school uniforms and
shoes. The uniforms, shoes and school supplies/books have to be
purchased there. They are not accepted within the school system without
the proper requirements. Their education is at stake. With Christ being their
number one hope for a brighter future, education comes next. It is their
ticket out of poverty and hope for their families of the future.
Let us pray to know the purpose of God in our lives and in the lives of these
little ones.
Matthew 10:42 says....And whosoever shall give a drink unto one of these
little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto
you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.

Starvation
Severe heat and lack of rain has dried out Kenya, as well as the
surrounding countries. What crops of corn and beans they did have, either
has already been eaten or has perished in the drought. New crops also are
hesitant to grow. BCWC is reaching out and requesting help with food and
clean water. Shipments of food and clean water can be purchased and be
brought in. Your gift of any amount will help ease this terrible situation. On
an average, a child can be have food and clean water for as little as $10 a
month. That is $.34 a day, less than a cup of coffee or a canned drink.

Expansion
BCWC is in need of expansion of their present church building. The
congregation there is growing by leaps and bounds. A country's
hardships, can drive people towards means of rescue, and Praise God, for
them seeing that the "church" is the place to run. Not only do they find a
solace here but they learn of Jesus Christ, and "accepting and receiving
Him as our Lord and Master is indeed the "rescue" of us all.
BCWC is need of building supplies to further this project. Mainly in the area
of tin sheets. Each sheet costs $10 and they are in need of at least 80
sheets.

Library books
BCWC is in need of books for their Christian Workers Library. Most of the
books they request are simple and inexpensive. If you would like to give the
gift of knowledge, please email us at the below address and we will provide
you with the list of books you may obtain.

Youth Conferences
Our future is our Youth. We all know that. Providing for these young ones
and training them up for service is advantageous for the country's Christian
welfare. Please consider supporting BCWC and the 9 sister churches as
they conduct youth conferences this year in December. Your gift of any
amount will help make this yearly project a success.

Outdoor Evangelistic Outreach
Pastor Wandera and BCWC also conducts outdoor evangelistic meetings.
Many people are reached by this effort that possibly would not be reached
for Christ otherwise. A large burden they have at this time is an outdoor
sound system. Please pray to the Lord for the provision of the right sound
system they need and for the funds to purchase it. The Dominos Effect and
Branches of Christ Fellowship are excited about the open doors we have in
Kenya. And we look forward to attending and holding conferences at The
Bethel Christian Worship Center, conducting leadership training and
couples ministry, as well as ordaining Ministers and Bishops into the
Gospel of Christ during our visit there. Also we look forward in assisting
Pastor Wandera with his Outdoor Evangelistic Meetings, seeing the lost
saved and experience healing and deliverance among these people. Keep
Pastor Wandera, BCWC and the 9 sister churches in Kenya and Uganda in
your prayers as they blaze new trails for Jesus Christ in their countries.
