This is Karen Nichols
and Justin Price.  They
are the Youth Group
Leaders at Ruhamah
Pentecostal Holiness
Church in Carnesville,
Georgia.
They have been
leading the Youth
there for 6 months
now, and are doing a
fantastic job. They
started off with  4 kids,
but now have 6. And,
on certain Sundays,
can have 12-13 kids.
Both Karen and Justin
are attending College.
Karen at the
University of Georgia
in Athens, Georgia and
Justin is at Gainesville
College in Gainesville,
Georgia. They are
engaged to get married
after school. Congrats!
to the both of You.
One of the most blessed sights to see these days is the smile of a child.  And,
for the congregation of Ruhamah Pentecostal Holiness Church in Carnesville,
Georgia  .... seeing the smiles of the children there are abundant and exuberant.
The children of Ruhamah PH Church, (ages 6-10) are excited about Jesus
Christ and everything about Him.  That is because their leaders, Justin Price
and Karen Nichols are excited about Him, too.  The Joy and Love for Jesus on
the faces of these two young people is contagious to all they meet. They
portray a Boldness of Spirit and a Heart of Gladness for the cause of Christ
that is not seen in many places now.  And they are instilling this same zeal into
the lives of the children they minister to, weekly. It is more than a lesson they
teach.  It is more than a scripture they seek for them to memorize.  It is being
taught as a lifestyle in these young lives. Everyday is a day for Jesus Christ.  All
that you do, all that you say, is measured to the standards of Jesus Christ. And,
there is no boredom on Sunday for these children. These children's little hands
are always the first  to be raised during Prayer Request. Each week they
faithfully pray for the sick and lost in their families. During Children's Church,
their melodious tunes infiltrate the church all the way from the Fellowship Hall
to the Sanctuary. It is like a High School PEP Rally taking place for Jesus.  It is
a beautiful sound! Our grandson is constantly correcting all of us if he deems
our behavior not proper in Jesus' eyes. "Jesus doesn't like that!", he will tell us.
Or, he will say, "The Bible says.....and when you ask him where he learned
that from, he always says Children's Church. We all could stand to take lessons
from these little children, and we are thankful that they have these two young
ministers to light their way and show them Jesus. The children of Ruhamah PH
Church has already hosted one Youth Sunday a few months back and is
scheduled to host another one on November 01, 2009. I wish all of you could
come. There was not a dry eye in the sanctuary the day of the first Youth
Sunday, as those children put on skits, and sang and did drama. The air that
day was charged by the Holy Spirit as if it was currents of electricity. They
preformed every area of service from the preliminaries to the ending song. The
twinkling of their eyes, the clapping of their little hands, the sound of the little
voices loudly echoing off the ceiling ministered to us. It was a wonderful time. I
would like to recognize Justin Price and Karen Nichols and the children of
Ruhamah PH Church as an inspiration to all, serving as a mirror, reflecting the
True Love and Joy of Jesus Christ to everyone they meet.

A Note from Karen and
Justin....
The Youth of
Ruhamah PH Church

Teacher's note:

The first thing parents think about
is who are these teenagers
teaching my children?  Well, my
name is Justin Price.  I grew up in
a Baptist Church my whole life
before coming to Ruhamah with
my Fiancee Karen Nichols who is
the other teacher.  Back in
February of 2009, Pastor Ron
asked both of us if we would
consider doing this task, although
there was no need in him asking
because the Lord had already
spoken to me about it.  I just didn't
know what IT was until that day.
After that day, I started to get a
fire inside of me for the Lord.
Some people warned me that it
may fade over time, because it is
definite that I would get
discouraged.  Well I still burn with
that fire every week waiting to
come to this church to be with
these children.
What it Really is:

What does Children Church mean at
Ruhamah?  Here at Ruhamah, both
myself and Karen do not simply give
them activities and/or food to
"babysit" them during church
service.  Here at Ruhamah in the
Children's Church, we have our own
service where the children not only
learn the normal stories they hear
from the Bible, but they also get a
deeper understanding of what those
stories mean.  For example, we don't
just tell them that David beat Goliath
with God's help.  We explain to them
that with God ALL THINGS ARE
POSSIBLE.  We explain that once
you put on the whole armor of God
that nothing or no one can break
you.  We also do not just teach
something one week and forget
about it the next.  For instance, we
try to have a memory verse most
weeks so that the children not only
learn the books of the Bible, but also
remember from week to week what
they learned.  We do  not teach out
of a book or go by a schedule.  I
personally sit down one night of the
week to either read the Bible for a
lesson, I believe the Lord wants me
to teach or pray about an activity to
let the Children have fun while still
learning about God.

However, for those Children in the
church today, DO NOT be scared
that this is like having school on
Sunday.  This is very different.  We
do have activities most Sundays out
of the month, as well as me and
Karen providing snacks at least one
Sunday a month.  We do have plenty
of fun as you will probably be able to
tell from the service today.  We
make sure that learning from God
and His love is fun and exciting.
